Chminianske Jakubovany

Chminianske Jakubovany (Hungarian: Jakabvágása) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1334.[citation needed]

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 443 metres and covers an area of 14.19 km2 (5.48 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[4]

Population

It has a population of about 2,623 people (2020-12-31).[5] The vast majority of the local population consists of the local Roma community. In 2019, they constituted an estimated 90% of the local population.[6]
